1943 Vintage US Army Tex Tan Ride-able Western Roper Saddle Buckin Rolls, Great find!!!! Leather is Soft and supple, has some surface cracking. Ride able for years to come or add to your collection. Great Condition For The Age, trees is tight, Features 27″ long dual skirt, leather wrapped rigging attached to tree, Pouch attached to back of seat, 16″ High backed Slick Seat, Brass leather wrapped oak stirrups, 7 high swell, leather wrapped wood FQHB tree, has had fleece and saddle strings replaced and much more see pictures. Stamped US Tex Tan 1943 on each fender. Fenders are in good condition. Tree: rawhide wrapped wood. 5 high back cantel. Stirrups 2.5 X 5 inch foot opening. The item “1943 Antq. HAS A SOLID TREE. 12 SEAT SIZE / HARD SEAT. INSIDE OF POMMEL & CANTEL. LEATHER COVERED WOODEN TREE. NARROW TO MEDIUM TREE WIDTH. NEEDS ALL NEW STRAPS TO BE USABLE. SINGLE TONGUE BUCKLE FOR STIRRUP HARDWARE. LEATHER GIRTH STRAP & LEATHER CINCH STRAP. CANVAS BACKED HORSE HAIR PAD. This saddle is a military saddle. There are no identifications on the saddle. This saddle seems to be a mix of original and newer parts. The saddle’s brass seat size tag states 12 inches. This saddle was being used as Military decoration. Before riding again, have an experienced saddle maker check it for safety. It looks like it would need all new straps. It seems like a solid tree on this saddle. The leather is in poor condition considering it’s age. There are surface cracks throughout in the leather. There are a few scrapes & scratches from past usage. TWO DIFFERENT FENDERS ON SADDLE. LEATHER GIRTH STRAP & LEATHER CINCH STRAP. This saddle is a military saddle. There are no identifications on the saddle. The cinch ring has a leather backing that looks like it is stamped. “Hotze & Sons 1912″. This saddle seems to be a mix of original and newer parts. It is missing the saddle’s brass seat size tag on the inside of the pommel and. The front right ring is not original and the metal bracket that holds it is missing. This saddle was being used as Military decoration. Before riding again, have an experienced saddle maker check it for safety. It looks like it would need all new straps.
