Heaviest one we ever had. Our TB passed last year so we have no use. We got this from a friend years ago that used it when he was a kid late 60s early 70s he bought it used. Thats the best I can do for dating. We always had a climate controlled tak room it was kept in then it hung in our house. Needs cleaning and needs to be used. Lovely 16 Very Rare Hand Made, hand carved, Shriners Parade saddle, bridle, and huge breastplate. The leather is in very good condition, and pliable throughout. The flash has caused places on the saddle to appear brown. The saddle has all of its original deep black color. The seat, however, is brown. I believe this to be a rare find, I have looked everywhere I could think of, and have not found photos of another. The tapaderos are long, show little wear, and are in excellent shape.. They are very well decorated and really eye catching! The hand carving is deep and beautiful, and the taps hang down low. They are off the saddle in the first picture, but will actually hang down about 19 inches, on the saddle. In the picture, they appear shorter. The leather of the saddle is all very pliable and very good, there is deep hand tooling in a very deep and beautiful pattern that time has not disturbed. Somebody has recently polished the silver, and little traces of the polish material can still be seen. It all looks strikingly good though. The Shriner emblem presents in a number of places. It is thicker than it appears, and actually is three dimensional. The bridle is lovely, and the cheekpieces and browband have numerous silver adornments, and a lovely face chain. The seat is a strong 16 inch, measured from the inside rim of the cantle straight across to the same level on the pommel. Ready to ride, just in time for the parade season. Lovely 15 Brown Ted Flowers Parade saddle. The leather is in very good condition, and pliable throughout. The tapaderos are on a swivel attachment, making stirrups easy to slide into. They are in good condition and really eyecatching! The leather of the saddle is basically very pliable and good, there are a couple spots on the metal that would improve with a little cleaning. I have not done any cleaning. The seat is suede, which would indicate it is a little later model Ted Flowers. The bridle is lovely, has long, newish reins and a pretty face chain to accompany all of the silver adornments. There is one Concho missing on the silver piece in the center of the brow band just where the forelock would cover. Additionally, One silver drop has come unattached from the breastplate, but is there, and currently attached to the leather strap that descends to the girth but lying on top of the breastplate in the photo… The distance from the overhead light makes the tapaderos look darker. All of the leather matches nicely. This saddle is part of a numbered collection of parade saddles owned by a posse group which performed over a large area. It is numbered, engraved in the silver in rear of the cantle, with a large 15. I have a matching 16+ inch Ted Flowers outfit that I will try and post in the next few days…. They would be great together. It is saddle number #20 in this grouping. THIS SADDLE IS TRULY A RARE FIND! Wyoming Saddlery Trail Saddle – Cheyenne, Wyoming. Extremely well made, light weight, trail saddle. Great for mountain (or any) trail riding! Western seat size 15″, English seat size 17″. Footman’s loops and brass ties on front and back. Includes the stirrup leathers and brass irons that came with the saddle. It is in amazing condition for it’s age, and has only been stored in a climate controlled environment since I’ve owned it (approximately 2 years). The Condition/Cosmetic flaws are the holes made by a previous owner, who put bucking rolls on the saddle. I took them off because I found them unnecessary, but my husband loved the idea of a mountain trail saddle with bucking rolls. They can come with the saddle, if desired. For Sale: Super cool, Rare 60s Ted Flowers white /silver parade pony saddle complete (seat measures 13.5 inches). Saddle has been kept in climate controlled room for many years and is solid with no missing spots on saddle, bridle, reins, breast collar, tapaderos or serape. Fleece is original and in great shape. I have left this outfit in its original condition. I have seen only 2 in my travels and I own 1 of them. All leather is solid and could be put on a horse/pony today. The throat latch strap on the bridle is the only piece of leather that would need to be replaced. Saddle and accessories could be restored back to its original white color. But, it looks just fine w/the aged patina that it has acquired over the years. A nice outfit to exhibit in your Barn office or house for a saddle collector.
