Breast collar, Hip/Rump Drop, Serapes, Bridle, Reins, Corona Pad. Seat size 15 seat (measured across the seat from horn to middle of the cantle/seat back). The saddle is a Simco western parade saddle, rare Ted Flowers Model adorned with silver accents. It is in great, used condition with cleaned and conditioned quality black leather and the silver has been polished to its current state. Designed with hand tooled leather patterns and intricate designs in all the silver adornment and trim. White saddle ties for contrast trim and for usage in holding ropes, saddle bags, etc. Medium deep seat for a secure ride and balance. Equipped with a solid tree which is a medium size tree. Saddle research shows the saddle to have been made in the 1950s to 1960s by Ted Flowers who designed many parade saddles with elaborate designs including custom orders for Gene Autry and Roy Rogers. Stamped “Made by Simco, Established 1933″ on the seat and “0225” on the back behind the cantle with no other maker marks that I can find. Leather tapaderos with coordinating silver accents to keep your feet in place with good grip. Full fleece underneath is in great shape. Includes a free blue girth and leather straps for attachment. The saddle is in great shape, but is an older saddle with signs of riding usage and age with overall fading, nicks, scrapes, wear, tarnish/rust, stitch missing here and there, loose individual silver accents, leather creases and cracks. I have spent hours cleaning, conditioning and polishing it to its current shape, but it will need more to fully restore it to parade show quality condition. Please ask any questions and feel free to offer further info about the history or design of the saddle and accessories. All info is greatly appreciated. Include the matching Serapes, Hip/Rump Drop, Breast collar, Bridle, Reins and Corona Riding Pad. All leather accessories are made of quality black leather with silver adornments and accents matching the saddle. Each leather item has been cleaned and conditioned and silver polished to their current condition. They are mostly complete, but be aware there is missing or weak stitching, loose silver accents, leather cracks and creases, missing silver/ metal parts, etc. All the accessories are full/horse size. All the pieces have fading, wear, nicks, scrapes, tarnish/rust and specific issues. Please read the descriptions carefully and fully review all 36 pictures. (12 at the top and 24 in the description body at the bottom). The serapes drape over the horse under the saddle. Black leather seems to be pretty solid throughout with diamond silver adornments, little red marks on the back, one silver diamond hanging piece missing on the bottom of one serape, leather is weak that attaches to each diamond piece hanging on the bottom. The breast collar is relatively solid and put together with the silver accents. There is tarnish and rust present on the metal with leather cracks on the leather in back and weak leather holding on the attachments. The bridle has pretty good leather with some creases and cracks, silver accents and 3 silver horse heads in the metal with rings connecting them up to a buckle at the top for attachment which is missing half the buckle, 2 blue horse head circles at each corner of the brow band. Includes a black chin strap with tarnish and rust on the metal parts. Reins are pretty solid with black leather with nicks and scrape and 2 silver conchos. The hip/rump drop is the rarest accessory to find. It has silver horse heads adorning the bottom of each side strap and silver diamonds on the straps. Rust/tarnish on the metal, leather creases and cracks, some weak or missing stitches, one leather strap is disconnected from the center piece where the leather wore apart, weak leather points on the attachment areas, missing one small silver triangle. The Corona riding pad is black, white and green in color, pretty solid throughout top and bottom. Needs a good cleaning. Ted Flowers history – During the 1940s, Edward Anderson Ted Flowers began making saddles at his shop in Anderson. He then moved to Alexandria where he opened Saddles on Parade on Indiana 9, just south of town. It was there where Flowers not only produced most of his saddles, but also manufactured his own steel dyes for stamping patterns into the leather. The saddle maker most often used German silver, stainless steel, Sterling silver, brass, and copper to decorate his saddles. The fancier saddles featured an Indian head or horse head decoration, and sometimes a 14-caret gold inlay. The saddles weighed anywhere from seventy-five to one-hundred-fifty pounds. Western movie legends Roy Rogers and Gene Autrey requested and bought equipment from Flowers. The cowboy stars would land their private planes at Alexandrias Knotts Airport just a mile away and go almost unnoticed by fellow customers at Saddles on Parade. Great saddle when fully restored for parades, showing, western riding, trail riding or just as a collectible to sit in your home or collection! Saddle is sent with signature confirmation and tracking. The saddle and accessories are described to the best of my knowledge and limited amount of information I found in researching the history, design and make of the items on the internet and in forums. The saddle leather is stamped “Made by Simco, Established 1933″ on the seat and “0225” on the back behind the cantle with no other maker marks that I can find on any other leather item. Research shows that Ted Flowers models often had no maker marks, especially on the earlier parade items made in his 30+ years of producing saddles, serapes, breast collars, bridles, reins, hip/rump drops, etc. In the 1940s, 1950s, and 1960s.
