Tex Tan Hereford Show Pleasure Equitation Saddle ; Vintage; 15″ seat; Quarter Horse Bars; Skirt is 27″; Weight is near 34#; Heavily Tooled; Real Silver trimmed conchos, corner plates, horn cap. Includes off-billet and tie strap. Saddle has only had two owners and I’ve only ridden in it a few times. This saddle hails from the era when Tex Tan manufactured, heavy, durable, long-lasting, forever saddles. It remains barely broken in. A real treasure for someone! Signs of age and use include: Thinning of the wool fleece in areas on the underside. As shown in the pic of the rope edge on cantle, there are a number of tiny, round insect holes in various places. Reining Saddle 16 Tex tan Hereford

It has a 16 seat, Full QH bars. Its used, but has allot of life left. We cut the stirrup leather tails shorter shown in pictures, because there was so much slack bunched up and in my way, they still go quiet long, long enough for my 5 11 husband to use this saddle. The horn leather had popped off, this will need glued down or sewn back together, see pictures. The cinch billet is broke off a bit short, I would replace it if I used this saddle every day. But its been really just a spare saddle for a few years now, and we are cleaning out our tack room. It us functional and ready to be used how it is. The tree is solid. Here is a vintage 16 pre-owned high-end Hereford Textan Yoakum Texas western horse saddle. It weighs about 35 pounds with the straps. It has been at our family’s ranch here in California for quite awhile but hasn’t been used for over twenty. Years when the last horse died. It’s in good condition for an older saddle except for several scratches and stains which I do my best to show in the photos. Not being an equestrian myself, I have included photographs with a ruler showing measurements. The numbers on the saddle are: 1336I (1336 and the letter I) and below that 87-75504.
