16 SIMCO Saddlery Haflinger Western Trail Saddle Chestnut Leather nice used

Here is a very nice used all leather Haflinger sized western saddle. A SIMCO Saddle, made in the USA. This is built on a “haflinger tree” – so it is designed to fit a haflinger with a short back, low withers. I tried this on several haflingers at our barn. It fits a mid-sized Haffie very well. Our model in the photo is about 14 hh and in an english saddle he wears a medium /medium wide. This is short enough for his back, and it is fairly flat front to back, so it does not rock. The back of the saddle is fairly flat also, so it sets on his back nicely. Unfortunately, it did not fit my 14.2 hh haffie that wears an extra wide in a dressage saddle. She needs more of a draft size saddle. This comes with both a brown nylon cinch strap and the off billet – they just were not on it for the photos. The pad shown is not included. Here is the info I could find online about it. This saddle features a smooth finish, engraved silver trim, and long leather saddle strings. RIGGING: 7/8 In-Skirt w/ Stainless Steel Dees. Brazilian leather saddle 16 on eco leather buffalo on color chestnut. Condition is Gently used. Has English rigging and western rigging as well. Can be rigged center fire. Had 2 transport scrapes on pummel can be left open or wrapped with vet wrap. I found vet wrap worked well for gripping as well. English rigging uses dressage /short girth and used english stirrup leathers and irons. Aluminum trail stirrups adapt easily to 1 inch leathers. This saddle works well either english or western kids like it because their hands can grip around the pummel easily. It fits a medium width horse even with prominent withers.
