Vintage Carmel Saddlery of Fresno ranch roper saddle. See Pictures for all measurements. Tooled leather, Suede seat (needs to be “refluffed”). Fenders: this was custom made by Carmel Saddlery owner Leon Emerson for a Mr. Whoever owned it after Mr. Lackey and before me was a shorter person and cut the fenders. I’m almost 6′ tall with a 36 inseam and did not have issues of the fenders being too short. If it had been a priority, I’d have had new fenders made to match, but it wasn’t. Use: I used this saddle consistently for about 15 years on some larger, nice wide-backed horses, it’s a great saddle and comfortable. One of those horses is retired now, one moved on, and one has been lame for five years. All of my other horses are smaller cowponies and I don’t rope anymore so this saddle can find a new home.
