Attention to all my valued customers……… I just got this message from a regular customer; Rich… A friend was looking for a saddle like my Lewisburg that got stolen last year. She wanted to surprise me for my birthday. The one she got for me looked identical but, “IT WAS NOT ONE OF YOURS” I thanked her and asked her to return it. It sat so wonky on my guy that it would have sored him before we left the barn. Make sure it say TN SADDLERY or its not the real thing. Quilted Gaited Endurance Saddle. We have been making the Bedford for over 15 years. This is my favorite saddle in the tradition of the Old Timer style. 6 3/4 Flared gullet especially for gaited horses. Works well on short back horse too. Great fit and great contact. Fenders slightly forward for balanced seat. Suede seat for a little extra butt grip. Light weight only 27 pounds. Tastefully done hand basket weave tooling by expert craftsman. Leather with nylon reinforced stirrup/fender straps. Prevents holes from stretching. High density foam padded leather seat. Matching hand tooled stirrups. May be used with “cross fire rigging”. We supply 2 6′ double ply nylon girth straps for cross fire or conventional rigging. Double rigging D, allows for full, 7/8, 3/4 and 5/8 or crossfire rigging. Layer of foam between tree and fleece for extra comfort for your horse. If you wish to use crossfire rigging, you can see how to do it on youtube. You will need to use 2 6′ girth straps. We use only vegetable tanned quality leather. If you are not familiar with the term “full grain”…….. Its the best quality surface finish of leather available. Not filled, not shaved, not sanded… Chosen for its smooth natural quality. Most people that know quality leather, understand that full grain is tanned just as it comes from the cow, not re-finished, coated, bonded, sprayed or in any way cosmetically enhanced. Full grain leather is the best and strongest leather for saddles, but may or may not have some slight natural imperfections, such as scrapes, fat lines, and other minor irregularities that will be minor and in no way affects the use of the product. I must emphasize the word “minor”. I normally would not even mention this, but occasionally we have a customer that is more concerned with perfect leather, and wants it no matter what the cost. If you are a perfectionist we can make a saddle and use only “hand select leather” Let me know, and I would be glad to give a special quote. Leather refers to natural hides that have not been sanded, buffed, or coated (as opposed to top-grain or corrected leather) to remove imperfections (or natural marks) on the surface of the hide. The grain remains allowing the fiber strength and durability. The Full grain also has breath-ability, resulting in a less stiff and supple leather. Rather than wearing out, it will develop a patina. During its expected useful lifetime. These are very desirable. Leather with too many imperfections become “top grain” or “embossed” or “bonded” leather. Those grades are much cheaper, because they doctor-up the leather to make it look good. Full grain leather may show some natural marks or flaws in the leather, because they have not been “fixed” as in cheaper grades of leather. These natural imperfections or marks do not in any way affect the use and durablity of the saddle. If you are the type of person that can only accept perfection, we can custom build a saddle for you. Quality foam padded leather seat. We added a layer of foam between the bars and the fleece for additional comfort for your horse. Fenders positioned slightly forward for a balanced seat. Brass rings for’stuff. Leather foot pad on stirrups for better foot grip. Rear overskirt to give added strength so you can do crossfire rigging (not just secured to the skirt). Angled rear D’s. Please forgive my photography. I was once told if I was a better photographer, I could charge double for my saddles. I oiled this saddle to show the real color. The other pictures are of the same style but not the exact saddle. You will get the exact saddle show in the main picture. I personally designed this saddle 15 years. Someone copied my design, but they can’t copy my reputation. I guess I should feel flattered. But, this is the original, and still the one that gets 100% feedback from our customers and repeat customers. My own tree design. Actually over 16 years, because when we started we spent 3 years as “Saddledealer” But we changed our name, because we wanted to be know as saddle makers, not saddle sellers. Flared gullet especially for gaited horses. Great fit and great contact. Light weight only about 26 pounds. Tastefully done hand tooling by expert craftsman. Leather with nylon reinforced stirrup/fender straps. Prevents holes from stretching. High density foam padded leather seat. Cheyenne cantle roll (great when you need to grab onto something). Also works well on short back horses. Angled rear D’s for “cross fire rigging”. Double ply girth straps for extra strength and wear. We use a double in skirt D (rigging D) for this saddles. It allows full, 7/8, 3/4 and 5/8 and cross fire rigging options. We use quality leather. If you are not familiar with the term “full grain”……..
