It employs attributes that aid barrel racers in absorbing those quick jarring movements common with todays faster, more athletic barrel horses. When championships are determined by hundredths of a second, the Crown C gives riders a competitive advantage that truly makes a difference in their performance. SPRS (Stirrup Positioning Rig Slot) holds fenders in forward position and offers resistance, keeping rider deep in the seat pocket. Shortened seat jockey (distance between the swell and cantle) gives the rider increased stability without hindering her freedom to stand up and sit down when necessary. Forward angled stirrups help keep the riders feet in front of her center of balance for better body position in the turns. Though the stirrups are angled forward, they are designed to give the rider a full range of motion to cue the horse as needed. Straight up and down saddle horn allows the rider to brace and support her body without losing balance. Martin Western Shooter Saddle 16 Seat

Lightly used “Martin Shooter” Custom Saddle. 16 inch seat in “Chestnut” color “Hermann Oak” leather. Saddle has a 6.5 inch gullet. Almost completely hand tooled (7/8) with a beautiful design that has darker dyed (antique looking) leather around the floral “Desert Flower” design which makes the tooling pop! Suede leather on the jockeys. “Silver beading” or silver dots all over the saddle, six sets of strings, back flank cinch, “Hamley Twist” for stirrups, stained wood “Dark Oak” 2 inch stirrups (Nettles), sheepskin lined under saddle, and “Vintage Bark Elephant Full Seat” leather seat. Also has the sliding adjustable plate for your cinch (helps with different horse conformations). You would wait four months or more for your saddle to be made with all the features included on this saddle. Saddle has been cleaned and conditioned. Saddle tree is the “Martin Axis” (wood covered in fiberglass). Saddle is strong enough to use for roping and was never used for that purpose, so it is in excellent condition for whatever riding you would like to do. Saddle skirt length is 26 inches, so it will fit a shorter backed horse. Saddle weighs around 35 pounds. If you are unsure how this saddle will fit (not familiar with Martin saddles) it fits wider in this gullet size of 6.5 inches than my Circle Y Ellis Reiner saddle in a wide tree. Martins seem to run larger than other brands. It would need a wider horse, but I can not guarantee fit. You can call Martin directly for help with fit. The wool cinch attached in the photo is not included. Note: Last five photos and main first photo are of the saddle cleaned and conditioned.
