Simco model #8902 Western Saddle 15″ seat, 24″ skirt, ralide tree, appears to be SQHB, smooth leather seat, in-skirt rigging, nylon off billet and latigo, lots of bumps, bruises and wear from use and age but overall solid condition. 15 Simco Western Saddle Black with Russet Seat Lightweight Genuine Fleece (WS28)

This is a Simco Saddle in good used condition. This saddle is numbered and I see the Simco flower on the horn but no other maker’s mark. It is black with lots of tooling and a striking russet orange seat and jockeys. The seat measures 15″ and the skirt measures 24″ front to back. It is lightweight at 20 lbs. It measures 5-1/2 across at the base of the gullet. It has brass in-skirt rigging and the genuine sheepskin fleece is in good condition. It does not have billets or latigo. It has wood stirrups with leather wrapped at the footbed. The stirrups adjust with buckles (not Blevins) that are marked with an anchor. This saddle has seen some use and has signs of. There are expected scuffs, scratches and wear to the leather. It is dusty and could use a good detailing and conditioning. There is no cracking, weather damage, broken or damaged areas. At a recent tack sale, I received several comments saying “That’s a nice saddle” and ” it’s worth the price”. Structurally the saddle is extremely sound, leather has some scuffing. I used this saddle for trail riding, but it may be a reining saddle. Ample room for a horse with wider shoulders, but higher whithers.
