So we might have an item that weighs 7 pounds like a saddle pad but UPS and Fed Ex will charge dimensional weight rates which turns a saddle pad in a 31 pound package. We do not charge over and above that. Depending on the seat size of the Western Saddle the weight would be approximately 28 pounds. Dimensional weight would be 28x20x18 divided by 166 = 60 pounds. UPS and Fed Ex change the charges for a 28 pound saddle to 60 pounds because of their dimensional weight rules. Average weight is 6 or 7 pounds.
